Accessing the Empire AI Collection in Globus

Collection Information:
The EmpireAI Globus collection provides access to your assigned VAST home directory.

Access to a separate collection for the DDN Lustre filesystem will be provided in a future update.

Prerequisites

Before accessing the collection, ensure you have:

A Globus account
Access to your institution’s login provider
An active FIDO account for EmpireAI authentication

Steps to Access the EmpireAI Collection

Go to the Globus File Manager:
https://app.globus.org/file-manager
Select Log In and authenticate using your home institution credentials (for example, your university or organization account).
Once logged in, use the Collections search bar to search for: EmpireAI
Select the EmpireAI collection from the search results.
Click Open in File Manager to access the collection.
The first time you access the collection, Globus will prompt you to authenticate with your FIDO account.
- Complete the FIDO login and consent steps.
- This authorization is typically required only during the initial access setup.
After authentication is complete, the collection will open and you can begin browsing or transferring files within your VAST home directory.

Important:
Initial FIDO authentication is required the first time you access the EmpireAI collection.

Notes:

Future access sessions typically will not require repeating the FIDO authorization unless the authorization expires or permissions change.
If you encounter authentication issues, verify that:
- Your FIDO account is active and linked to your access permissions
- Your browser allows pop-ups and redirects for Globus authentication flows
- You can access your Home directory via the Command Line
